1. Who we are
ClaimSahayak ("we", "us") is run by Adv. Satyend Kumar Patkar, 1809 Silver Oak Compound, Napier Town, Jabalpur. We help people whose insurance claims have been rejected or short-paid. We are the Data Fiduciary for your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. What we collect and why
- Email address: to log you in with a one-time code and send your receipt and updates.
- Name, mobile number, state and district: to contact you, and to find the right Insurance Ombudsman office for your case.
- Policyholder's name and mobile, if different from you: to prepare the complaint in the right name.
- Policy, claim and rejection details you type in: to assess and pursue your case.
- Documents you upload (policy, rejection letter, bills, medical records): to assess and pursue your case. These may include health information.
- Payment reference (Razorpay order and payment ID, amount, date): to record your fee. We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details; Razorpay handles them.
- The time you gave consent: to show that you agreed to this policy.
The Quick Check on the home page works without logging in and does not save what you enter.
3. How we use it
Only to assess your claim, prepare and send complaints to the insurer, IRDAI Bima Bharosa, the Insurance Ombudsman or a consumer commission on your instructions, keep you informed, and keep our accounts. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Who can see it
- You, and the members of our team who handle cases.
- The insurance company, IRDAI, the Ombudsman or a consumer commission, when we file a complaint for you.
- Service providers who run the website for us, only to provide their service: Supabase (database and document storage), Vercel (website hosting), Razorpay (payments) and Google (email). Our database and your documents are currently stored by Supabase on servers outside India. Razorpay, Vercel and Google may also process data outside India.
- Technology providers that help our team read and organise case documents faster, including Anthropic (document-reading software). They process data outside India under contract, only to provide this help, keep it only for a limited time, and do not use it to train their systems. Every decision on your case is taken by our team.
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with.
If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies to that chat.
5. How we protect it
Your documents are kept in a private store. Each one opens only through a link that works for one minute, and only for you or our team. Each person can see only their own cases. Connections to the website are encrypted.
6. How long we keep it
While your case is open, and for 3 years after it is closed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Then we delete it.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to delete it, once we no longer need it for your case or by law;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect what we did before, and we may not be able to continue your case without the data);
- nominate a person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to;
- complain to our Grievance Officer, and if not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
